At Gammel Klausdalsbrovej in Herlev, we are creating a unique residential area where architecture, landscape, and sustainability unite seamlessly. The project comprises 19 townhouses and 10 apartments, designed in varying sizes to appeal to a diverse group of residents. Inspired by the natural surroundings of Hjortespring, the development is organized into small, intimate clusters that promote a sense of community while maintaining a strong connection to the surrounding green landscape.

The architecture emphasizes quality and longevity. The homes are built with natural materials such as lime and clay plaster, wooden cladding, and green roofs, blending harmoniously with the environment while aging gracefully over time. Roofs are designed with integrated solar panels, contributing to the project’s sustainability goals. Distinctive roof overhangs create pleasant transitional spaces between indoors and outdoors, while small front gardens and private terraces offer opportunities for relaxation and everyday tranquility.

The landscape is an integral part of the project, connecting the development with the nearby green spaces. Pathways weave through the area, inviting both residents and passersby to explore. Recreational spaces, play areas, and serene spots are thoughtfully designed to encourage engagement and activity. Around Gammelgaard Lake, a vibrant environment is created with a focus on biodiversity and green solutions that also manage rainwater and enhance climate resilience.

Sustainability is at the heart of this project. The buildings are constructed according to the voluntary sustainability class, adhering to an ambitious climate agenda with a carbon footprint of no more than 5.8 kg CO2-eq/m²/year. From the choice of materials to the design of the green spaces, every element is carefully crafted with the future in mind, aligned with Herlev Municipality’s goals for green and sustainable urban development.

Hjortespring is more than a residential project – it’s a vision for the future of living, where people, nature, and community thrive in harmony.
