Flodlejet

We are truly honored to have won the competition for Flodlejet in Randers with our fantastic team, LYTT Architecture and ARTELIA!

Our winning proposal celebrates the interaction between Denmark’s only river, Gudenåen, and the city of Randers, creating an urban and recreational environment centered around the river, defined by two sides with distinct characters. The northern side draws from the industrial and maritime history, creating a series of spaces that promote urban life – while the southern side introduces a recreational delta landscape, including a new river island and river bath. A typology of smaller architectural structures (Flodhuset, Flodpool- og Saltsauna, Flodblikket) animates the site-specific potentials and connects Flodlejet into a cohesive whole with a clear identity, offering a series of places, each with its own unique qualities.

We are excited to further develop the project in this unique location where the freshwater river, the salty sea, the medieval inner city, the industrial harbor, and the upcoming urban development of Fjordbyen converge!
